John Kenneth Galbraith once said, "There's no such thing as a free lunch".
How I wish all those people who bombard me with their spammy e-mails offering me a bazillion bucks for doing nothing understood the truth in that statement!
I think most of us would agree the "American Dream" is to be in business for yourself. To be your own boss, not tied down to a nine-to-five job.
But since when did that dream mean you didn't have to WORK for what you got? That if you just join this program or that program, and ante up your monthly fee, everything would just come to you- no fuss, no muss, no bother, no work?
Sorry, folks, but it doesn't happen that way!
And even the people who create these schemes tell you it ain't so!
I've visited numerous web sites investigating these "money for doing nothing" programs, and there's always a caveat: Your "earnings" are still dependent on what YOU do, not what somebody else does for you!
Read the fine print!
It will almost always say your income possibilities are greatly increased if you sponsor others into the program.
If you don't sponsor others, your chances of earning a large income are minuscule. And even if you do sponsor others, unless THEY sponsor others, you still don't earn anything.
In other words, there's no free lunch!
The fact is the creators of these programs are playing a psychological game and they are very good at it! They put up pictures of fancy cars, big houses, dream vacations to make you drool. Who doesn't want a big house or fancy car?
In reality they are pandering to greed, hoping you're greedy enough to fall for their promises. They use those pictures, and all that hype to reel you in.
These programs are not designed to work for YOU. They are purposely set up to work for the guys that created them. They're the ones at the top of the heap. Everything flows up to them, not down to you!
The all-too-obvious truth is they're after your money!. They want that monthly fee, because most of it comes back to them!
What I find amazing is how often people fall for these things, not just once or twice, but over and over again!
I 've gotten emails from the same people three or four months apart, hyping the newest, latest, greatest money maker. "This one really works!" That's what they said about the LAST program they tried to get me into!
Let's get down to the crunch: Can you actually make money online?
The answer is yes, you can. There are lots of ways to do it. But ask anyone who actually DOES make money online and they will tell you it takes time, effort, and work!
Do a little searching! Google in "making money on line" but be careful. The last time I did it, I found 80,500,000 entries! They run the gamut from running an auction site to working at home offers. Hundreds of them promise you'll make money without investing a cent. (In my 14 years on line, I have NEVER found this to be true!)
Before you jump into anything, take your time and investigate. Ask questions, especially about what you can earn and what you have to do to earn it.
Don't believe them just because they show you screenshots of their bank deposits! Demand proof.
Ask for names and email addresses of people who are actually making money from the program! If they won't comply with your request, that should be a big red flag to you to run in the other direction as fast as you can!
If your answers come up positive, it's probably a safe bet to give the program a try. Just remember whatever happens still depends on you, because there really is no such thing as a free lunch!
